چکیده

Mobile hosts utilize Mobile IP to retain connectivity while roaming in various networks, and acquire new IP addresses through the mechanisms Mobile IP supports. Today, one of the most demanding application requirements is QoS support. RSVP, the protocol implementation of the IETF Integrated Services Architecture, cannot handle hosts that change their IP addresses amidst a connection lifetime, and thus, must re-establish any given reservation states. To overcome this limitation, we propose the adoption of a mobility management scheme, that maintains a single contact IP address throughout the mobility session. Furthermore, we introduce RSVP Mobility Proxy, an enhanced RSVP enabled border router to deal with QoS signaling at any mobility related network topology modification.

An Enhanced MSS-based checkpointing Scheme for Mobile Computing Environment

Mobile computing systems are made up of different components among which Mobile Support Stations (MSSs) play a key role. This paper proposes an efficient MSS-based non-blocking coordinated checkpointing scheme for mobile computing environment. In the scheme suggested nearly all aspects of checkpointing and their related overheads are forwarded to the MSSs and as a result the workload of Mobile ...

Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

Service-Oriented Bandwidth Borrowing Scheme for Mobile Multimedia Wireless Networks

Multimedia applications (audio phone, video on demand, video conference, file transfer, etc.) will be integrated into future mobile communication systems. Bandwidth is the most critical resource in mobile multimedia wireless networks. Due to mobile user mobility and limited bandwidth in the mobile wireless communications networks, the quality-of-service (QoS) guarantee becomes very complicated ...
